**Job Summary**

Under moderate to limited supervision, the Data Warehouse Technical Analyst II, collects, analyzes, mines and helps the business leverage data stored in data warehouses.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Creates data design, database architecture, and data repositories

Design, maintain and provide support for data warehouse systems and related data marts

Evaluate new data warehouse applications for adoption

Perform complex data analysis

Design intermediate data transformation pipelines

Improve performance of existing applications

Ensure data accuracy

Intake and research business information needs and develop solutions

Identify system requirements for assigned projects

Execute data extraction procedures

Fulfil requests for data reports of high complexity

Develop diagrams or flow charts of system operations

Assist on projects of high complexity

Train and mentor Data Warehouse Technical Analysts I

Demonstratecontinuous learning; participate in hackfests, technical communities and technical conferences

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Knowledge of relational database theory

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in all of the below:

+ SQL skills across multiple data platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres SQL, MongoDB)

+ Data modeling (OLTP, star-schema, snowflake-schema)

+ Cloud-based data services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Synapse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Catalog, Azure Databricks, AWS/GCP technologies)

+ Custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance using data orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, SSIS, Pentaho, Informatica, SAP Data Services)

+ Reporting, data presentation and dashboarding skills (SSRS, Tableau, Sisense, Power BI)

+ Producing technical designs (artifacts) using tools like Visio

+ General purpose programming language (Java, C/C++/C#, Python)

+ Modern DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD)

+ Agile software development (Azure DevOps/VSTS)

Strong knowledge of the P&C insurance industry

Research, analysis and problem-solving skills

Ability to lead teams and projects

Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical and complex decisions

Ability to build effective relationships with business partners and influence decisions

**Experience and Education**

High School Diploma required

Bachelors Degree in related field (IT, IS, Computer Science) preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Advanced Degree in related field (IT, IS, Computer Science) preferred

Minimum of four years of related experience (software development/engineer experience within data analytics, business intelligence or application development using Microsoft technologies) required

Previous experience with Guidewire DataHub and InfoCenter highly preferred
