LIFESTEPS Mother and Child Welfare Specialist Beaver , Pennsylvania Apply Now Lifesteps is excited to add a new service in the Western PA area.

We are creating a team of staff to support pregnant moms and their child through their first 18 months of life.

We are immediately hiring a full-time Maternal Health Specialist for Beaver County, PA.

The position starts at the base office in Beaver, PA and then travels throughout the county using a company vehicle.


Position Summary:


TheMaternal Health Specialistworks to assist mothers in scheduling and attending well-baby appointments; assess infant and women care and home supports; monitor infant and pediatric developmental stages; and offer guidance, education and referrals to parents as appropriate to achieve positive support outcomes through home visiting.

TheHome Visitorposition includes driving to the family home using anagency-provided vehiclefor check in visits which cover topics such as: expectant mother and newborn baby health, education, nutrition, child growth and development, postpartum wellness, and well-baby follow-ups.

The Maternal Health Specialist also provides documentation and reports related to their case management for the MCO's and supervisors.

Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm, vehicle providedQualifications:Associates Degreein Child Development, Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education (or a related field such as Family Relations, Sociology, Women's Studies, etc)OR a High School Diploma plusa home-based CDAcredential or comparable credential.

Demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children's progress.

Knowledge in infant/toddler development/education/health/nutrition/safety as well as family dynamics and adult learning principles.

Must be able to secure, within 90 days of hire, and maintain the basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.

Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks or Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Current driver's license and the ability to travel for businessAbility to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred :


1 year experience in Early Education, Early Childhood Development, Children Services, Social Work, Women's Health, Case Management, Wellness Educator, Community Health Advocate or related fieldPrevious experience as a Teacher Aide, Child Care Assistant, Social Worker, or other similar roles is helpful.
