Summary

The top cycling store in the area is currently seeking experienced Bicycle Mechanics to join their team. If you're passionate about cycling, possess knowledge of bicycle mechanics and parts, and have a proactive, problem-solving attitude, we want to hear from you

In this role, you will:
  • Assemble and prepare bikes for sale
  • Perform various service tasks on new and used bicycles

Repair experience is preferred, and if you're a rider, even better. This opportunity is open to individuals of all ages and experience levels.

Duties

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to shop standards for bike assembly and repairs
  • Achieve or surpass production targets
  • Accurately complete all paperwork for job orders
  • Identify and report any unresolved issues to customers or supervisors
  • Assist customers with product knowledge during sales or repairs
  • Operate cash registers when needed
  • Monitor replacement parts inventory and inform management of shortages
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workshop
  • Assemble, tune, and test new bicycles
  • Repair and replace bike components and accessories
  • True wheels and adjust brakes
  • Service and rebuild suspension components
  • Inspect and replace drivetrain parts
  • Install tires and tubes
  • Clean and lubricate bike parts
  • Perform any other assigned duties

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with:
  • Minimum one year of experience as a bike shop technician/mechanic
  • Prior experience in bike assembly
  • Strong references from previous employers
  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Point of Sale and other business software
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Interest in continuous learning and skill development
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including weekends
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Personal biking experience
  • Familiarity with electric-assist bicycles
  • Expertise in bicycle suspension systems
  • Experience with hydraulic brake systems
  • Knowledge of electronic shifting systems
  • Advanced training from major manufacturers like Sram, Shimano, and Specialized
