Role Summary:

The Sand Blaster - Maintenance Technician in a pump service center is responsible for ensuring pumps and decoking equipment are clean and free from foreign materials. He/she ensures that the parts are clean and provided back to the technician in a timely manner. The Sand Blaster - Maintenance Technician follows instructions from the shop lead and reports to the Production Supervisor.

1st shift schedule – 6am-4:30pm. OT as required.

Responsibilities include:

Cleaning each part and component using sandblast units and pressure washing equipment. Prepare components for abrasive blasting Applying blast cleaning to components in accordance to standards Select and match paint according to requirements Spray surfaces with appropriate amounts of primers and / or finish coatings Clean and maintain paint equipment Completes daily, weekly, and monthly SMS. Working safely and helping colleagues work safely. Complying with all Flowserve policies and procedures. Communicating clearly and professionally with co-workers and customers. Paint pump prior to shipment to the customer. Exhibiting behavior that encourages team-building, decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Complete all assigned safety training on time and follow all safety policies and procedures. Use knowledge of Safety Data Sheets for proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Make certain that all disposal drums and containers are properly labeled. Daily inspection of chip hoppers at each machine and dump in proper recycle container (brass, aluminum, steel) as required. Manage and properly dispose of all shop floor cardboard, trash, and crates on a daily basis. Regularly check all oily rag and sorbent drums throughout shop and properly dispose of as required. Exchange paint booth drums as required; properly label and store in Haz-Mat Building. Separate trash from corrugate for proper disposal and safely operate cardboard compactor; manage cardboard bales by neatly storing them in the warehouse yard. Manage non-hazardous wastewater storage and schedule removal. Maintain oil storage and maintain oil inventory levels. Maintain recyclable items such as plastic, paper, and aluminum. Maintain Hazardous Material Building. Organize and store all drums and containers in appropriate areas. Manage waste oil drum and skids. Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness and organization of Building. Maintain scrap pallets and crates by neatly stacking and staging them for disposal in the warehouse yard. Maintain warehouse yard in a neat, organized manner at all times. Maintain compactor areas in a neat, organized manner. Other non-technical facility related tasks such as painting, and cleaning as assigned by supervisor. Must have a safety-first mindset; follow all safety policies and procedures, and maintain a safe, organized work environment at all times. Immediately report all safety observations, near-misses or other potential safety hazards. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Ability to wear a protective suit and a respirator 6 + months of experience in operating a sandblast unit Able to use, operate and maintain specialized equipment including spray guns and paint booth Must have personal set of mechanic's tools and roll-around tool box Able to stand for long periods and lift objects up to 50 lbs. Able to operate sit down and stand up forklifts Able to operate jib crane and overhead crane Must be able to work overtime hours including weekends and holidays Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment Use of basic hand and power tools. Knowledge of safe and proper cleaning procedures.
