Overview:
- Ensure quality and completeness of clinical documentation in patient records
- Monitor documentation processes and make necessary modifications for accurate reimbursement
- Educate patient care team on documentation policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements for Clinical Documentation Specialist:
- Graduate from accredited nursing school (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum three years clinical experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and DRG experience is advantageous
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Washington state
- Must obtain CCDS certification within twelve months of hire date
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities

Requirements for Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist:
- Associates degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum three years clinical experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and DRG experience necessary
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Washington state
- ACDIS certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) required
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities
