GENERAL SUMMARY

:

The Prepress Technician plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for meticulously preparing artwork into print-ready files and creating dynamic variable data templates for mailings and printing. Working closely with the Client Services and Production teams, the Prepress Technician ensures that all output aligns with our high-level quality standards and exceeds client expectations.

Shift schedule is flexible based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Conduct preflight assessments and prepare digital files for proofing and printing, utilizing a range of applications to ensure optimal output quality. Proficiently edit files using Adobe Creative Suite applications and manipulate PDFs with Acrobat, leveraging tools like Enfocus Pitstop for precision. Execute sophisticated imposition techniques using software such as Apogee Impose or XMPIE, ensuring optimal layout and efficiency in printing processes. Proactively identify and swiftly resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the prepress phase, offering effective solutions to maintain project timelines. Adhere to internal departmental procedures and standards, maintaining consistency and excellence across all projects. Perform platemaking duties and conduct regular maintenance on processors to uphold equipment reliability and performance.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You possess a comprehensive understanding of prepress and print industry standards, with familiarity with the 4-color process, spot colors, varnishes, die cuts, screen angles, and distortion. You are proficient in a suite of software and systems, including Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, Enfocus Pitstop, and XMPIE. You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating acute attention to detail in all interactions. You love to collaborate, thriving in a team environment, and contributing positively to collective goals. You have exceptional multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or accuracy. You actively participate in internal customer communications, facilitating seamless project execution and client satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years of hands-on experience in the printing and graphics industry, demonstrating a robust understanding of design principles and production processes. Proficient in current design and page layout software, with a keen eye for detail in file preparation and optimization for print-ready status. Thorough knowledge of color management rules and methodologies, adhering to industry standards to ensure consistent and accurate color reproduction. Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, XMPIE, Adobe Acrobat, and Enfocus Pitstop, with a track record of leveraging these tools to achieve outstanding results. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with agility and focus while maintaining a high level of quality. Impeccable attention to detail, coupled with stellar communication skills.
