Operations Overview:
  • Position within Blue Origin's Operations department, overseeing Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, encompassing Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all facilities.

As a key member of a dedicated group comprising specialists, technicians, engineers, and scientists, you will spearhead and supervise the OLS Chemical Processing team. This team plays a critical role in the chemical processing for safeguarding fracture critical flight hardware against corrosion.

Special Considerations

  • Expect occasional travel, up to 10% of the time
  • Primary A Shift assignment, flexibility required to work any shift based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to defining requirements, developing CONOPS, designing facilities, selecting vendors, managing builds, and creating hiring strategies.
  • Implement hiring plans, engage in facility commissioning, train personnel, document processes, and ensure production readiness within project timelines.
  • Supervise the OLS Chemical Processing team, including resource planning, job descriptions, recruitment, task assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Organize resource allocation to meet Production Control priorities.
  • Oversee chemical processing operations, manage key performance indicators, and ensure cost, schedule, and technical objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, troubleshoot non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced safety and efficiency.
  • Develop recovery plans for schedule constraints and prioritize training and skills development for team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in physical sciences or engineering (Chemical preferred) or significant experience in chemical processing for corrosion protection.
  • Leadership experience overseeing personnel in development programs or production lines, preferably in aerospace or chemical processing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and work instructions, with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced team setting.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and a commitment to hiring top talent.
