The Pipefitter Lead position involves supervising and coordinating the activities of a work crew responsible for installing HVAC products and equipment.



Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned tradespeople.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as necessary.
  • Direct installation of assemblies at job sites.
  • Order necessary materials, equipment, and tools for efficient use of labor resources.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, based on equipment capacities and personnel.
  • Analyze and solve work-related issues; maintain time records, and actively contribute to the success and development of each assigned tradesperson.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficiency in shop math; adept with tools, piping, and machines.
  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings or blueprints.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable standards.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and relevant journeyman experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate using Planning Calendars.
  • Adherence to precise standards, flexibility in duties, and adaptability to changing requirements.

B & I Contractors, Inc. prioritizes safety across all roles. This position may involve the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for certain tasks. It is the incumbent's responsibility to ensure they have the required safety gear and use it during their duties.


Physical Requirements:
  • Good eyesight and clear communication skills.
  • Full use of hands, fingers, arms, and legs; comfortable with kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing on ladders and scaffolds.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
