ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is a sprawling food emporium housed within one of New York's most historic landmarks. The Tin Building comprises various unique venues, including multiple full-service restaurants, fast-casual and counter dining outlets, as well as 10,000 square feet of retail offering private label products, grab-and-go options, groceries, and more. To support this extensive operation, the Marketplace features a large commissary kitchen and bakery, along with an exhibition kitchen that presents media opportunities.

The Howard Hughes Corporation, a reputable real estate firm overseeing the redevelopment of New York City's Seaport District, aims to transform the property into a hub that attracts both locals and visitors through a distinctive blend of year-round entertainment, culinary delights, and retail experiences. At the heart of the Seaport District's revitalization is the re-imagined historic Tin Building, featuring a unique Marketplace and entertainment venue managed by acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

POSITION SUMMARY

Shift Supervisors play a crucial role in ensuring that Tin Building standards are consistently met by team members, delivering a top-quality food and beverage dining experience to all guests. They provide managerial support in overseeing key functions and employees during daily operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the designated QSR outlet's operations with a focus on service and quality
  • Maintain service flow using established systems, checklists, and training materials to uphold service quality and product standards
  • Collaborate with F&B programs to ensure consistent excellence
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and handle conflicts following company standards
  • Implement promotional, seasonal, and designated programs
  • Directly manage hourly employees to achieve high standards of excellence
  • Oversee maintenance of all F&B venue areas
  • Conduct daily inventory of food, beverages, small wares, and equipment across all venues
  • Uphold cleanliness standards in all restaurant areas throughout service and post-service
  • Enforce proper loss prevention practices, including cash handling procedures and tip management
  • Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Complete assigned side work related to guest service
  • Consistently report to scheduled shifts punctually and in appropriate attire
  • Operate ethically to preserve the company's assets and reputation
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Ability to think quickly and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to safely perform essential job functions as per industry standards, including lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • Capability to move through work areas, bend, lift, reach, and work in a dynamic environment

The base pay range for this position starts at $28.00 per hour and factors in various elements, such as prior experience, qualifications, and skills, to determine individual compensation. Creative Culinary Management is an equal opportunity employer.
