About the Position:

The role involves providing an extensive range of physical therapy services, which includes assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions within a collaborative team setup, in line with the necessary qualifications, professional standards, and ethical practices. This position also entails demonstrating responsibility and making valuable contributions to program advancement, quality enhancement, issue resolution, and productivity improvement in a flexible team-oriented manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial assessments, devise personalized treatment plans, and administer age-appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Evaluate patient progress and maintain detailed records in the electronic medical system, outlining advancements and ongoing treatment requirements.
  • Educate patients and their families on relevant tasks and resources supporting continual functional independence and document these details.
  • Provide supervision to physical therapist assistant(s).

Quality Management Focus:

  • Engage in quality management initiatives within the program.
  • Gather data for performance enhancement purposes.
  • Contribute to preparations for surveys.
  • Participate in safety activities within the department.
  • Contribute to the provision of cost-efficient care.

Professional & Leadership Domain:

  • Take part in ongoing education and professional development activities, including mentoring students and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor and attitude towards patients, families, colleagues, and others.
  • Adhere to the regulations and guidelines of relevant professional bodies and Bon Secours Mercy Health.
  • Support marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain necessary licenses, certifications, and memberships in professional organizations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Attend team meetings.
  • Assist in providing in-service and cross-training to team members on physical therapy knowledge and skills as needed.
  • Contribute to enhancing departmental functions' efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team as required.
  • Undertake additional assignments beyond the job description when workload demands and as directed by the supervisor.

Minimum Education Requirement:

4-year Bachelor's Degree

Specialization:

Graduate of a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, an accredited Master's degree program, or a 4-year Bachelor's degree program endorsed by the APTA (or its foreign equivalent)
