The Clinic Supervisor will report to the Clinic Manager and is responsible for overseeing and managing the Medical Office Specialist (MOS) and the daily operations of the clinic.

This position will provide leadership and guidance to the staff, to ensure optimal quality of care, compliance with regulations, and efficient operation of clinic services.

The Clinic Supervisor will work closely with other healthcare personnel to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as primary office assistant to Clinic Manager. Collaborates closely with other clinical supervisors and with finance department. Under the direction of the clinic manager the supervisor will monitor and manage work time of staff assigned to clinic manager. Is responsible for front desk staff. Provides financial counseling competently and with sensitivity, as needed, in collaboration with the financial counselor. Provides comprehensive oversight and ensures proper classification of patients, insurance and program eligibility, client demographics and financial information, including insurance cards, billing authorization, signatures and consent forms, input of billing information and patient classification into the EPIC System. Completes deposits and daily close-out functions. Conducts chart reviews to ascertain proper documentation, especially as it relates to Early Intervention Clinic and a sliding fee scale agreement and correspondence with patients whose accounts are in arrears. As needed, receives and greets clients/visitors to the clinic and conducts tours, assists with check-in and check-out of patients, take phone calls, answers telephones and schedules appointments as needed. Participates in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year and any other duties as needed. Work evening clinics as needed, provides _support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65._

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate and some post-high school education, e.g., technical school or some college. Associate degree or higher required. Bilingual competence may be required, in Spanish.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of four years' experience in a physician's office or community health center. Must demonstrate advanced professional and cultural competence and experience in supervising staff and participating in planning and implementation of organizational goals and objectives, and in leading and managing grant-funded projects. Competence based on previous billing experience of at least two years working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, including HMO's, required. CPR certification required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: The following are required: professional demeanor and attire; accurate and correct written and verbal skills; superior customer service skills; knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment; medical terminology; understanding of current ICD-10 and CPT coding; excellent computer literacy; knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Must possess good knowledge of community services and demonstrate a high level of community collaboration.
