Requisition SummaryThe Zero Emissions team at PACCAR is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art technologies that aim to eliminate harmful emissions in the heavy and medium-duty transportation sectors. Our mission is to deliver the best zero-emissions products to our customers and communities worldwide. We are seeking individuals with a passion for innovation and a collaborative spirit to drive the development of top-performing trucks.
As a Thermal Systems Engineer in the Zero Emissions Powertrain department, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrified components for our global product lineup. You will be responsible for the thermal management and packaging of advanced battery systems, contributing to the ongoing success of our zero-emissions initiatives.
Job Functions / Responsibilities- Collaborate with external partners to develop cutting-edge materials and technologies for battery thermal management.
- Evaluate and recommend thermal management solutions to enhance system designs.
- Work closely with procurement and quality teams to identify and qualify suppliers.
- Utilize a structured product development process to ensure high-quality engineering designs.
- Provide thermal engineering expertise to support the expansion of electric vehicle applications into new markets.
- Demonstrate innovation through effective teamwork and individual initiative.
- Provide rapid troubleshooting for battery system-related issues.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Potential for up to 20% travel (domestic and international).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in automotive development.
- Strong technical background in high-voltage battery thermal systems.
- Experience with electric powertrain systems.
- Proven ability to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
