Job Description:

Vertiv is looking to hire a Buyer in Westerville, Ohio, responsible for acquiring specific commodities to meet the demand of the Americas' business, in collaboration with the Americas Commodity and SIOP teams.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers based on demand.
  • Maintain accurate purchase order details in the ERP system.
  • Support internal customers like Offering managers, Warranty team, NPDI, and Project Managers.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and liaise with relevant departments for next steps.
  • Coordinate information between suppliers, Materials & Commodity Management.
  • Follow spot buy and freight cost management processes to minimize business costs.
  • Explore options with the Commodity team for negotiating prices/terms on spot buys.
  • Manage purchase order lines for additional charges.
  • Collaborate with quality and logistics teams for any manufacturing rework due to quality issues.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a penchant for fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of cost management practices.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with leaders.
  • Positive attitude.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
