The Role:

Based in Pleasanton, CA, or Burlington, MA, this opportunity lies in Abbott's Heart Failure (HF) business unit, focused on developing solutions for heart failure management. As a Senior Electromechanical/Mechatronics Engineer, you'll be involved in designing and creating sophisticated electro-mechanical medical devices and testing equipment to support the product development process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and documenting electromechanical systems.
  • Using analytical tools to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Developing software for device control and data logging.
  • Creating and implementing test methods for product validation.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors for component sourcing and manufacturability.

These tasks require a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective teamwork to tackle challenging technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in electro-mechanical design, preferably in the medical device field.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design tools, circuit design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse business environment.
