  • Friday, 7:00AM 3:30 PM with call time rotation Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Surgical Technician position prepares the operating room, including setting up the sterile field and setting up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.
During surgery, this role passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and prepares and manages surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment, provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment, and assist the surgeon during procedures.

Prepare the operating room for surgery. Keep records of use of Steam Sterilizer. Order process for loaner trays and implants and communicate with reps. Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator. Keep the suture carts organized and watch expiration dates. Re-process cameras, light cords, and scopes for future procedures. Turn over rooms in between cases. Maintain surgical folders. Assist the team members with gowning and gloving. Assist with patient positioning pre-operative and transport patient from cart to bed and back. Sterilize equipment and instruments. Stock adequate supplies for surgery. Perform other duties as requested.
