Work Responsibilities:
  • Communicates with co-workers, cooks, and servers about availability and readiness of menu items.
  • In charge of quick and hygienic preparation of all menu items following established recipes and guidelines.
  • Ensure team members clean their work areas while performing their tasks and help with cleaning in other areas.
  • Train other team members in your department while motivating, reinforcing, and supporting them.
  • Manage food production including cooking methods, cooking time, and temperature, ensuring proper sanitation, handling, and storage of prepared food and leftovers.
  • Show expertise in storing and handling perishables correctly, maintaining quality and integrity.
  • Supervise proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Capable of providing assistance to Sous Chefs and helping in all kitchen areas and other assigned tasks.
  • Identify and correct any product discrepancies and quality variations.
  • Complete station checklist and prepare necessary sheets one hour before the end of the shift.
  • Prepare for busy work periods and minimize waste at the end of service.
  • Assist other Cooks and Sous Chefs with kitchen operations and tasks.

Skills and Requirements:
  • Must be able to work autonomously.
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
  • Handle employee conflicts calmly and make rational decisions.
  • Maneuver throughout the property and different floors.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel.
  • Respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Operate a computer and office equipment effectively.
  • Tolerate dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
  • Work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Speak clearly and persuasively.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous culinary experience.
  • Strong leadership and customer service/communication skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and equipment maintenance.
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
  • Present a professional appearance.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years old.
