Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Chief of Business Services, the incumbent will handle tasks in the mail room and various clerical jobs for District 1 Administration, including Budgets, Administrative Services, Business Services/Facilities, and Public Information. The incumbent is expected to show initiative, independence, and originality in performing assigned tasks.

Working Conditions

Position based at 1656 Union Street, Eureka, Humboldt County. Working hours include time in a climate-controlled office and outdoor driving to transport mail, which may involve moving boxes and bulky items.

This position may allow for telework, subject to the Department's discretion and Caltrans's telework policy. Expect some business travel and readiness to report to the worksite on short notice for urgent needs.

New toState candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
