Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity for an AI Engineer is available with a well-established studio in Southern California. The studio is currently working on an anticipated new FPS IP and is seeking a mid-senior level AI Engineer to join their team for this project and future endeavors.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in AI programming within the game industry
- Proficiency in C++ and/or C#
- Extensive expertise with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity
- In-depth understanding of AI techniques such as pathfinding, decision trees, state machines, behavior trees, and machine learning
- Track record of delivering AAA games with advanced AI systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
- Effective communication abilities and aptitude for teamwork
- Genuine passion for creating immersive gaming experiences

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AI middleware solutions
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Lua
- Knowledge of multi-threaded programming and optimization techniques

Work Hours: 8am to 4pm

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement advanced AI systems for in-game characters and NPCs
- Collaborate with designers, animators, and engineers for seamless AI interactions
- Enhance AI tools and pipelines for efficient content creation
- Debug and optimize AI systems for high performance and player satisfaction
- Stay updated on the latest AI advancements and integrate them into projects
- Mentor junior AI engineers and uphold a culture of excellence
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality standards
