Job Overview:
Responsible for all of the robots in the body shop. Monitors thefactory's performance, manage & allocate manpower and strengthen anddevelop the organization's production& planning structure. Develops,implants, and improves complex manufacturing production processes and methods.

Responsibilities:
Support with training ofmaintenance and production employees
Update technology packagesas well as Kuka Software system updates
Develops best practices to improve production capacity,quality and reliability
Manage the implementation of continuous improvementprocesses for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.
Investigates problems, analyzes root causes and derivesresolutions. Will use 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainablequality products.
Develops operational strategies to achieve productionand financial objectives
Assures product and process quality by designingcomplex testing methods; testing finished- product and processcapabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
Participates in budget preparation and monitor expensesand profitability
Writes spec books; requests and evaluation of supplierquotations
Designs, documents, and implements medium tolarge-scale manufacturing processes. Determines feasibility of productchanges
Utilize system analysis of productionmethods/procedures and process automations for continued growthimprovements.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks relying onexperience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Evaluates current production activities and drivesimprovements
Periodically ensures that highly technical equipmentmeets required specifications and high quality standards
Implements cost reduction initiatives while maintaininghigh quality standards
Contributes to product and process quality designtesting methods
Develops planning standards, methods, and procedures
Stays current with product specifications, engineeringtechnology and production processes

Provides guidance to team members to accomplishproduction goals; Mentors and provides guidance to less seniormanufacturing engineers for skill/knowledge base development.

Motivate,develop, direct and influence team members at all levels and culturalbackgrounds of the organization.
May act as deputy for Production Manager
Proposes and manages medium-scale projects frombeginning to end. May scope and manage large capital investment projects(>$5M)
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing,Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degreerequired*.
Over 5 years of relevant experience required, stronglypreferring Body in White including experience such as:

Experience with Kuka KRC robotic is a plus
Hands-on Programming experience in booth or work cell
PLC experience such as; Siemens S7 is a plus
Hands-on experience in off-line simulations
Knowledge of joining technologies such Mig/Mag, spot,and laser welding, and gluing a plus.
3D-CAD experience such as; Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia,Siemens NX, ect.
Hands-on experience pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical,and computer controlled systems
Hands-on experience with process devices such as; motordrives, sensors, AC/DC converters, encoders, lifts, conveyors, etc

  • 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted fordegree.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures andprocess technology.
Ability to present complex technical informationrelated to achieving goals of the department.
Able to influence team members at all levels of theorganization
Proven written and verbal communication at all levelswithin the organization with good negotiation skills.
Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevantsolutions and actions.
Proven design & implementation of ContinuousImprovement themes with savings
Knowledge of value stream mapping to reduce waste andimprove output in a production environment is desired.
Experience in process layout and optimizationincorporating asset utilization is a plus.
Background in manpower distribution based on productionand efficiency targets.
Ability to troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques,& assist if needed for root cause analysis in stressful situations
Ability to read & create blueprints and schematics
