Job Summary

Dominion Energy is adding a Manager to its Solar projects team. Provides executive updates and progress reports as directed. Responds to internal and external inquiries. Incumbent responsible to participate in a team environment to define scope, schedule, and cost for large projects. Participate in defining the overall implementation strategy of projects. Responsible for the implementation phase of large scale construction projects. Projects are expected to span over several years and require extensive travel. Responsible to develop staffing plan to meet stated objectives.

This position is expected to have a staff of people reporting to it, which will include direct reports, contractors, and matrixed employees.

Manage large and/or multiple engineering, procurement, and construction firms to implement assigned projects. This position may entail management of multiple projects or large scope areas within a single project. Participate in project reviews both internally and externally. Assist Director and others with forecasting project scope, schedule and cost performance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 8-10+ years of demonstrated knowledge and experience with large engineering, procurement, and construction contracts and processes.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Skilled in use of computer including Microsoft applications, scheduling programs, spreadsheets, databases, and project management applications.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects through the implementation phase to closure.
  • Ability to utilize project metrics to effectively monitor project progresses to identify areas for improvement and/or to mitigate project impacts.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements and conditions. Ability to achieve results by influencing others.
  • Ability to compile, interpret and present data to senior management.
  • Should have progressive experience in the projects area including management of large construction projects.
  • This experience should encompass conceptual project scoping through final project scope, cost, and schedule development.
  • Considerable work experience with large engineering, procurement and construction firms.

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor
