Job Summary:
Working under the guidance of a qualified physician, the MRI Technologist carries out various technical MRI procedures crucial for diagnosing diseases in humans.
Essential Job Functions:
- Executes MRI procedures adhering to department standards with at least 99% accuracy and stays up-to-date with technologist regulations for different patient age groups.
- Schedules appropriate time for each patient, reviews requisitions, and manages schedules efficiently.
- Prepares contrast media accurately for examinations.
- Processes images promptly after examinations.
- Translates physician's orders into suitable radiographic procedures with high accuracy.
- Maintains patient logs and equipment downtime records.
- Collaborates with radiologists to establish optimal imaging protocols.
- Acts as charge technologist, prepares reports, and ensures activities are well-organized.
- Follows up on urgent studies as needed.
- Maintains a safe and hygienic work area, promoting patient safety and satisfaction.
- Monitors inventory levels accurately and notifies for replacement needs.
- Records patient exams as required.
- Transports patients safely within the facility.
- Identifies and troubleshoots machine malfunctions.
- Keeps work area clean and tidy to prevent injuries.
- Assists patients and families during their visit.
- Helps in the absence of other staff as necessary.
- Cross-trains in relevant areas.
- Performs assigned duties and projects.
- Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a licensed MRI Tech.
- Excellent communication skills with patients.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
