Duties:

This position is located in our Strategic Operations Division (SOD), Office of International Organizations (IO).

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.

If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.


As an
International Financial Intelligence Officer, you will:

  • Research, analyze, and summarize Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) data and produce financial intelligence products for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper dissemination, classified information handling, deconfliction, and intelligence sharing. Utilize knowledge of foreign financial systems and technical developments in assigned geographical or functional area(s) to assess developments and forecast the impact of threats posed.
  • Implement, interpret, and explain complex financial intelligence policies, programs, and statistical standards to interagency, national, and international officials.

Qualifications:

Specialized experience for the GS-13:You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  • Engaging with international officials and counterparts on matters related to foreign policy, economics, or financial intelligence;
    AND

- Analyzing large data sets, such as Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) data, or otherwise performing statistical or qualitative analysis;
AND*:


  • Developing research or analysis of financial crimes in assigned geographical or functional areas;
    OR:

Specialized experience for the GS-11:You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal Service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

  • Supporting senior analysts with the development of research or analysis of intelligence in assigned geographical or functional areas;**

  • Engaging with senior officials on foreign policy, economics, or financial intelligence.
