Key Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of engineering and oversight of maintenance for all US facilities. Supervision of new programs from inception to completion, as well as the evaluation and updating of new and existing tool sources. Other responsibilities will include the tracking of program changes, assistance to customers, program managers, and operations for all US Facilities.

Management:

  • for quote preparation and approval with a key role in the development and execution of new business strategy.
  • leadership through employee development, performance management and the development and execution of the financial and strategic business plan.
  • technical and manufacturing associates as individuals or as a group through the execution of work projects.
  • sales activity and assume lead role as plant customer contact for new business development and product launch.
  • conjunction with the Operations Manager assists with continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.
  • for the quoting and engineering change management process.
  • capital projects and obtain approval for expenditures (business case).
  • to long term planning by the proactive planning of manufacturing facility/equipment design and capacity to ensure appropriate capability and continued competitive advantage.
  • support of ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks long-term strategic goals by constantly searching out improvement opportunities.
  • and implement effective business unit tactics to achieve long-term plant and corporate goals.
  • role on the US Operations Staff, working collaboratively with other manufacturing disciplines (Production, Quality, Materials, Human Resources, Accounting, Health and Safety) to achieve operational goals.

Engineering, Process & Maintenance:

  • and aggressive pursuit of equipment optimization through product and process innovation with respect to safety, quality, and throughput for both current and new production machines.
  • for program or project management including engineering project planning, timely execution, and project budgeting for all new and modified equipment and facilities.
  • for the maintenance of all equipment and facilities with a focus maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • uptime through technical skills development for trouble shooting, cost effective solutions, and preventative maintenance.
  • cross divisional technical innovation projects.
  • the capability and performance of all equipment through upgrades, continuous improvements, new installations and maintenance.
  • product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
  • and approve design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
  • all Advanced Product Quality Planning processes throughout the new product launch cycle.
  • the purchase and inventory of all equipment critical spares.
  • tooling and process selection and approvals.
  • for the pre-start Health & Safety reviews for all facility equipment following installation or modification and prior to production.
  • the planning and implementation of changes to machinery and equipment and oversees the testing of new or modified equipment or facilities to ensure fulfillment of technical specifications.
  • for document control as it relates to technical documents.
  • and develop the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all equipment within all USA facilities.
  • Manufacturing Process Team to achieve capability and OEE goals.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, mechanical or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • of 10 years of experience in leadership roles within automotive working at a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Automotive Manufacturing Parts supplier.
  • Proven track record of successful product development, innovation, and project management
  • In-depth knowledge of laser welding processes, automotive design principles, and materials selection.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Technical skills including principals of engineering design (CAD, blueprint reading), general knowledge of machining and fabrication, statistical process control, problem identification and resolution, knowledge of the APQP process, and project management.
