Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Office Chief for Local Assistance, Engineering and Analysis, you are responsible for managing the District Project Initiation Document (PID) Program. Additionally, you act as the Division liaison with the Division of Program and Project Management in areas of mutual interest. You provide assistance related to the District's Transportation Planning programs to ensure efficient delivery.

The incumbent manages the District 3 PID Program, including the development of the Two-Year PID Workload and ensures delivery within prescribed resource levels. Building positive relationships with all staff involved with the PID Program is essential for effective delivery.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Planner exam. To be eligible for these positions, you must be on the state examination list. The Human Resources Contact can answer application process queries, and the Hiring Unit Contact can provide position-related information.

Working Conditions

Position located in Marysville, Yuba County.

Employees will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting and may require travel for this position. The amount of telework is at the Department's discretion based on Caltrans's telework policy. In-person attendance may be necessary for operational needs. The selected candidate must commute to the headquartered location as needed. Business travel may be required with all commute expenses being the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop, and maintain positive internal relationships. Strong communication skills for effective presentations and correspondence.
