Position Purpose:

The Licensed Practical Nurse plays a key role in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse within a multidisciplinary team. This involves utilizing the nursing process and upholding professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in assessing and evaluating various patient needs while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Aid in developing and executing the care plan following nursing standards and patient/family requirements.
  • Offer educational opportunities to address patient/family needs as per the nurse's teaching plan.
  • Embrace changes in the healthcare landscape, demonstrate willingness to learn, adapt positively, and maintain composure during stressful situations.
  • Effectively communicate significant patient developments to the registered nurse and other multidisciplinary team members.
Hours/Schedule: Full-time position with night shifts lasting 12 hours.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current LPN licensure in Iowa or eligible for multistate licensure.
  • IV Certification required or willing to start classes within 2 years.
  • Preferred previous acute care experience.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and adaptable to department needs.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Must have Basic Life Support certification and Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training as per Iowa regulations.
