Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent performs responsibilities in support of the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) Program.

The incumbent assists program managers by providing input on data exchange and policy analysis, systems requirement development, and program planning.

They must possess the ability to research, evaluate, and analyze issues and utilize the appropriate management tools in order clearly document and articulate findings and recommendations to management or stakeholders, depending on the project/issue.

Serves as subject matter expert for the Information Exchange Web Service (IEWS) process.

They must be able to engage, correspond verbally and in writing, and provide guidance to external stakeholders, coordinate resource efforts when needed, and trouble-shoot system issues associated with both the IEWS and Interstate Data Sharing processes.

Additionally, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA), acting independently and as part of a team, serves as a subject matter expert liaison for the CURES Help Desk Section.

The AGPA will also perform tasks including identifying and conducting research on policy questions from stakeholders; addressing the more complicated and varied CURES problem resolution issues; and developing and providing training and presentations to clients.

Working Conditions


This position is eligible for telework for up to 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required.

A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment
