*Fort Knox is NOT a camp mine*Job Responsibilities- Supervise the NDT/Reliability and Matrikon Dispatch teams in their daily activities
- Monitor, analyze, and recommend changes to ensure preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance is approached effectively. Recommended changes will include type of monitoring, frequency, routes, and equipment conditions
- Must possess knowledge of vibration analysis, thermal imagine, oil analysis, ultrasonic, airborne, flaw, and associated software
- Direct and manage the department oil analysis program and its associated software
- Perform failure and root cause analysis as requested by department. Set up programs to ensure file information is timely, accurate, well organized, and available for use by those who need said information
- Measure, analyze and communicate the business impact of operational losses of critical equipment on a weekly or monthly basis
- Establish trends and provide feedback to site maintenance and operational leadership about how actual performance compares to the goals and effectively support management decisions related to mill equipment maintenance
- Maintain written documentation needed for regulatory requirements and company policies
- Maintain the equipment criticality list
- Provide strategic reliability training for all MEM technicians to include the NDT and Matrikon teams with a formal training outline for advancement and individual improvements
- Accept responsibility for a variety of projects outside of standard day-to-day activities
- Maintain written documentation needed for regulatory requirements and company policies
- Support the engineering and supply chain departments early in the selection process of new assets to evaluate the reliability and maintainability of alternatives for helping in the decision-making process
- Support the planners in developing and / or updating maintenance plans
- Assist in the education of operators in the operation of equipment and the way specific behaviors impact reliability (Reliability Driven by operations)
- Prepare, communicate, and keep records of the KPI's (As per Kinross Way) related to reliability performance
- Maintain progress list of improvement projects including values gained or lost from projects
- Must be able to advise all departments on maintenance practices that drive reliability, including wear, safety, maintenance and use as this information impacts millions of dollars in company assets
- Participate in the budgeting cycle regarding effective determination of allowable system failures down to the component level
- Must be willing to fill in for technicians during their absences
- As assigned, be willing to accept responsibility for projects that may be outside of standard day-to-day activities
- Must lead NDT team with a proactive work practice that supports the common goal towards maintenance and cost-effective repairs in conjunction with planning and scheduling
- Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies
- Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Punctuality and regular attendance are required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
- Reliability engineering degree or any external reliability certificated training preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering degree considered.
- Five years mining maintenance troubleshooting and failure analysis experience required or,
- Five years' reliability engineering experience in large asset company required.
- Two years' direct supervisory experience required.
- Training on reliability practices, procedures, or methodologies is preferred.
- Must be competent in root cause and failure analysis methodologies.
Experience on the following equipment:
Borescope; Vibration analysis; Thermograph; Ultra Sonic testing; Airborne/contact ultrasonic testing; Laser alignment techniques.
- Must show ability on the following software programs: Pdma Winvis software for E-Max and MCE; Access and Excel software for tracking all technologies; Dindo Fleetwin oil software for oil analysis and 2130 firmware for vibration programs.
- Ability with Access and Excel & Windows Office Suites for tracking all technologies.
- Competent with condition monitoring software to include Thermography, Vibration, UT, Air-born Ultrasonic Emissions.
- Competent in Oil analysis and tracking.
- Work Order Management and Knowledge of JDE is preferred.
- Knowledge of the OSA-4 machine preferred.
- Able to write technical assessments reports.
- Able to communicate with hourly workers.
- Interface effectively with other supervisors and departments to formulate and run test on components, subsystems, and the system itself.
- Must be able to communicate in professional manner with vendors and contractors on subject such how to improve life of a systems and ease of maintenance.
- Participate in planning stages to ensure that resources for a good reliability engineering program are being allocated.
- This position will work in both office and field environments, using the appropriate PPE.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
- May work holidays, weekends, and shift work as required.
- Typically reports into the MEM Superintendent
