Job Overview


Build something big As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Komatsu Longview Operations, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our products by managing and improving the performance of our suppliers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, assess supplier capabilities, and implement robust quality assurance processes throughout the supply chain.

Key Job Responsibilities

Supplier Evaluation and Development:

Assess and qualify new suppliers, conduct periodic supplier audits, and collaborate with vendors to enhance their quality management systems.


Quality Assurance Processes:
Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality assurance processes for incoming materials, ensuring compliance with Komatsu's quality standards.

Problem Resolution:
Investigate and address supplier-related quality issues, non-conformances, and deviations. Implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure long-term quality improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement best practices, and optimize processes to enhance overall product quality and reliability.


Quality Metrics Monitoring:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality, providing regular reports to management and taking proactive measures to address any deviations.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on quality requirements, specifications, and standards for both current and new products.


Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards, ensuring that suppliers adhere to all quality and regulatory requirements.

Mentoring:
Help guide and mentor Quality Engineers in industrial best practices and Supplier Quality methods.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
Proven experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or heavy equipment industry.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, Six Sigma, and statistical process control.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
Ability to travel as needed to conduct supplier audits and assessments.
American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification a plus but not required.
