the Orlando region.
JOB SUMMARY
This job description is intended primarily as an illustration of the type of work to be performed by theDirector, Programs.
The Director reports directly to the Vice President, Talent & Community Development.Partnership employees are expected to provide their unique talents and abilities to solve specific problems or to address specific questions outside their job description related either to their team's mission or in support of an organizational goal.
They may be asked to participate in a variety of ad-hoc assignments and are expected to be flexible in their work practices and supportive of other team members.
The Director is expected to be a critical thinker and contribute relevant input into team tactics, technical systems and procedures and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
All employees of the Partnership are expected to familiarize themselves with the Partnership Personnel Manual and to conduct themselves in accordance with its policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Director will be looked to as an expert in program design, execution, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities include managing The Black Boardroom Leadership Institute, LeadForward recruitment, OEP Investor Updates and Annual Event programming.
The Director, Programs will be responsible for working with the Vice President, key stakeholders, investors, education partners and community organizations to design, develop and strategically execute programming while maintaining focus on significant revenue goals.
Required Competencies:
Program Development:
Responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that meet the needs of the OEP or community.
The Director will work closely with stakeholders to identify program goals and objectives, develop strategies for achieving them, and measure the effectiveness of the program over time.
Project Management:
The ability to effectively manage and execute project activities and deliverables.
The Director will lead programs with reoccurring monthly deliverables – including communications, securing logistics, building session agendas, and confirming speakers.
Presentation & Public Speaking:
The ability to present formally in front of large stakeholder groups, conduct program sessions, build relationships with prospective and existing local employers, and facilitate roundtable conversations with community partners.
Grant Support:
Assists with identifying relevant grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals. Conducts thorough research on funding agencies, their priorities, and evaluation criteria. Drafts and edits grant proposals according to specific funder guidelines and formats. Provides administrative and technical support to the grant management process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Communication:
Establishing and maintaining proactive and effective communications to build collaborative relationships with team members and community partners including education and training providers and existing industry human resources personnel and facilitating effective usage of ideas.
Strategic Thinking:
Strong organizational skills and the ability to align processes, resources, and multi-department goals within the organization's overall strategy.
Microsoft Office Suite:
Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of tools on day one to effectively communicate with staff and measure performance metrics.
Preferred Competencies:
Hybrid / Remote Work:
Ability to conduct business in person, virtually or in a hybrid work environment (i.e Microsoft Teams & Zoom), with flexibility for early morning start times, some evenings and day-time travel across the region.
Salesforce:
Knowledge of Salesforce to manage data and pull reports for internal tracking.
