Job Summary: The Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the scheduling of all patients at the surgery center. This position involves extensive communication with practice offices and requires strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with surgeons, patients, and staff. Additionally, the role may involve tasks related to insurance verification and other aspects essential for ensuring seamless patient care.



Job Responsibilities and Major Duties:

  • Coordination of Center Schedule
  • Promotes high-quality clinical care and attention to detail in scheduling procedures
  • Manages necessary information for each surgical procedure
  • Coordinates instruments and equipment requirements
  • Collaborates with center leaders to optimize block time
  • Identifies and implements solutions for improved scheduling efficiency
  • Communicates effectively with physician offices to manage block time and scheduling
  • Assists in various duties as needed
  • Communication and Customer Service
  • Keeps the center team informed of scheduling issues and changes
  • Participates in leadership discussions related to scheduling
  • Communicates special requirements to the center leadership team
  • Manages conflicts between physician offices and the center
  • Builds relationships with physicians and resolves issues efficiently
  • Participates in center projects and programs
  • Surgical Case Growth
  • Focuses on maximizing center efficiency and patient care
  • Identifies opportunities to schedule additional cases
  • Collaborates with office schedulers to schedule more cases
  • Assists in training new physician office schedulers
  • Physical Demands
  • May involve remaining stationary for up to 40% of the time
  • May be exposed to various environmental factors
  • Must be able to handle tasks involving exposure to body fluids


Required Skills:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • 2+ years of clinical experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of scheduling experience preferred
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and comprehension
  • Basic typing and computer skills
