Music Instructor Position at The Salvation Army
Do you have a passion for teaching music? The Salvation Army is looking for a candidate to teach various instruments, including voice, piano, and ukulele in private lessons part-time. If you enjoy sharing your musical skills and knowledge, this could be the perfect opportunity for you
Job Objective:
The music instructor will be responsible for teaching group and/or individual music lessons, creating curriculum and assessments, and forming partnerships within the community.
Essential Job Duties:
- Teach individual and/or group music lessons.
- Design and implement curriculum and lesson plans.
- Develop collaborative partnerships for music programming.
- Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Willingness to teach additional classes or workshops.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent performance experience.
- At least three years of teaching experience.
- Musical performance background.
- Curriculum development experience.
Competencies and Skills:
- Ability to work with children, parents, and staff.
- Initiative and self-starting capabilities.
- Performance experience in teaching area.
- Knowledge of music literature.
- Positive attitude and flexibility.
- Promotion of The Salvation Army's mission.
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
Physical Requirements:
- Speaking, hearing, and vision ability.
- Manual dexterity.
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25 pounds.
- Bending, squatting, and walking.
- Standing for extended periods.
Travel:
None
Working Conditions:
Office environment at normal temperature with occasional outdoor events.
