General Summary:
The

Reference Librarian will provide reference services to students, faculty, and staff. He/she will teach library instruction classes and
foster the development of library and information literacy. This librarian will act as a liaison to one or more academic departments. He/she
will assist the Library Director in the development of policy and procedure and collection development of the library.

Qualifications:
The Reference Librarian must have an earned master's degree (MLS) from an ALA- accredited
institution; a minimum of 3 years experience providing reference service and library instruction. A second degree in Business/Social
Sciences is preferred; experience and knowledge of current practices and trends in managing electronic resources and serials; reference desk
experience in an academic library; excellent knowledge of integrated library systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent reference, bibliographic, and
database services. Teach library instruction to students and faculty. Serve as library liaison to academic departments and contribute to
courses development. Participate in programmatic priorities, decision-making, and other library planning projects. Maintain and acquire
materials for the non-print collection. Proficiency with integrated library systems and web-based instruction. Attendance of committee and
other library related functions. Supervision of library staff as needed. Assist in library inventory. Recommend new services to Library
Director. Maintain membership in local and national professional organizations to ensure professional development. Participate in grant
writing to enhance library services. Assist in budget maintenance and library operational plans. Assist the Library Director in evaluating
the mission of Library to ensure that it complies with the mission of the University and its appropriateness to the current needs of
students, faculty, and staff. Able to work some evenings and weekends. To support, enforce, and abide by the policies and procedures of the
University

Strategies:
Meet with the Library Director once a week to discuss issues/concerns as
needed.
Update faculty and staff on new library services and resources.
Provide a library environment that is conducive
to productive student learning.
Assist in grant writing to enhance library services.
Provide library handouts and other
information sources as needed.

Minimum Education Required:
Master's degree from a
regionally accredited college or university and one to three years of experience.
