QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or GED, Associates degree in vocational expertise orhigher training or experience preferred.2. Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.3. Custodian shall have the ability to work under limited direct supervision, whileaccepting the direction of general supervision.4.

Experience in the areas of stripping floors; waxing floors; mopping floors;painting walls; repairing walls, including minor drywall work; minor plumbingand electrical work; moving furniture; coordination of contractual maintenancefor larger jobs; ordering and storage of maintenance supplies and groundsmaintenance including mowing and trimming grounds.4.

Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may findappropriate and acceptable.5.

Shall be responsible for all building and grounds maintenance and minor repairsas well as making recommendations for physical maintenance and repairs byoutside contractors.6.

Physical ability to perform responsibilities as listed below.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Could be a 10 or 12 month assignment as defined bycontractual agreements. The work day will be considered an (8) eight hour day. Over time willbe paid for all work hours completed in excess of (40) forty hours in any given week. Sick,vacation, personal, and holidays will not count toward over time calculations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sweeping & Mopping Daily:1)

Classrooms2) All Purpose room3) Restrooms-School & Offices4) Hallways and entrances5) Cafeteria-Kitchenb) Waxing & Buffing:1) All areas of the school building as needed; waxed at least every 6-9-weeks.c) Vacuuming carpeted offices or classrooms dailyd) Dusting window sills once a week in offices.e) Scrub and disinfect bathroom floors, clean fixtures, replenish supplies in restroom(toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap), and clean water fountains dailyf) Emptying all waste cans and removing trash from the building and placing it inthe dumpster dailyg) Mowing Lawn as neededh) Sweep sidewalks, shovel and salt walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps asappropriatei) Replace light bulbs as needed in offices and schoolj) Maintain building exit fixtures as neededk) Clean all windows in building three times a year (inside and outside)l) Clean up coffee pot area dailym) Clean walls and doorways of fingerprints as needed.n) Replacing of filters on heating and air conditioning units as neededo) Must be able to lift a minimum of #50 pounds*Teachers shall be responsible for dusting furniture in classroom2.

Custodian shall complete all other duties as deemed appropriate by the Director ordesignee in line with the maintenance, safety, welfare, of student and institutional needs.

This may include a temporary assignment outside the purview of normal dailyassignments, such as working with a student.
