Newport News, Virginia, United States Brighton Center Inc Full time
Purpose:Every child deserves equitable access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Research shows that a child's brain grows at an extraordinary pace in the first six years of life, laying the foundation for lifelong development. Often, families experience barriers to accessing this early education. Join us in connecting families and children to resources that make access to early learning programming more attainable.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge of local early childhood education options in the region (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties) and collaborate with providers, stakeholders, and community members to increase referrals to educational programming.
  • Partner with families to identify strengths and connect to community resources and public benefits to reduce barriers to early education enrollment.
  • Support the identification of systemic barriers that prevent young children from accessing early education, including, but not limited to, racial inequities and families experiencing poverty.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and display a commitment to diversity, racial equity, and inclusion.
  • Driver's License, personal transportation, and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Northern Kentucky region.
  • One to two years' experience in the human services or Early Childhood Education fields, directly working with families and young children.
  • Experience assisting individuals with strength-based assessments and person-centered planning.
  • Post-secondary training in Early Childhood Education or Human Services is preferred.
About Brighton Center Inc:

Brighton Center wraps a community of support around individuals and families by tackling the issues that prevent people from becoming self-sufficient, removing the barriers they face, and creating hope so that goals can be achieved and dreams realized. From our modest beginnings in 1966, we have grown to provide a wide range of programs and services, which include meeting basic needs, adult and early childhood education, youth services, housing & financial wellness, workforce development, substance abuse recovery for women, and neighborhood-based programs.
