Position Summary

At Balfour Beatty Construction, we are in search of a Project Manager. The Project Manager is accountable for overseeing the overall progress, completion, and financial outcomes of a construction project. In this role, the incumbent leads and supervises activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed with high quality and profitability while adhering to our Safety/Zero Harm culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates with scheduling, superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers to establish a construction schedule.
  • Creates an organizational and responsibilities matrix at project initiation and identifies the necessary resources for the project. Partners with Loss Prevention Professionals assigned to the project site.
  • Reviews contract documents with all project participants to ensure timely and within budget project completion.
  • Manages and delivers all requirements for subcontractors and suppliers to meet project deadlines.
  • Manages project administration and daily operations. Prepares and maintains the project schedule, milestone dates, and close-out checklist.
  • Establishes relationships and communication channels with suppliers and key individuals to ensure timely availability of all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and personnel. Ensures alignment with performance standards and expectations.
  • Maintains a safe and respectful working environment by implementing safety programs, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) practices, risk management, training, and quality control. Implements project-specific SAP as needed.
  • Develops and manages the project budget, including coordinating the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) development.
  • Understands and complies with the owner's contract requirements. Develops monthly Projected Final Cost Report (PFR) and Labor Cost Report (LCR) projections.
  • Creates Project Incentive Compensation Plan within 30 days of GMP acceptance.
  • Establishes strong relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that align with the company's core values and exceed customer expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Ten or more years of experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Three or more years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cost projection, financial analysis, budget reviews, and labor reports.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar construction applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Preference for Tier 1 or large general contractor commercial construction candidates.
