What You Need:
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in the automotive industry
  • Capital Project experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS project
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The project engineer will lead the design and implementation of equipment and processes necessary for the manufacture and assembly of products for the automotive industry.
  • Responsible for leading all aspects of capital projects from initial quotation through product launch.
  • Write specifications for new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Write specifications for upgrades and retrofits of existing equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to review supplier proposals and designs to ensure compliance to equipment specifications and business objectives.
  • Manage project plan to ensure achievement of project quality, efficiency, and timing targets.
  • Lead the validation and approval of processes including performing capability studies measurement system analysis, and collection of process performance data.
  • Collaborate with team members to create process documentation including operating instructions, set-up/changeover instructions, preventative maintenance instructions, and critical spare parts list.
  • Provide technical support to ensure successful PPAP and seamless hand-off of process to the manufacturing team.
  • Provide training to production team for safe and effective operations.
  • Provide ongoing technical support as needed after launch.
