Job Title: Cook (Morning)

Reports to: Food Services Manager, Head Chef
FLSA Status: Full Time; Non-exempt
SUMMARY
Prepares food in accordance with all federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations within our established policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Lead of morning shift and expected to ensure the menu is being prepared and completed at the highest level
  • Ensures all tasks are being completed by the cooks in the kitchen during their shift
  • Sets up Chef of following shift for success
    • Refills oils and spices
    • Cleans all work benches
  • Maintain and enhance food products during services
    • Ensure food service safety measures are met on the line
    • Ensure all foods are fresh and presentable
    • Ensure all meals times are met
  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
    • Provide input into menu/recipe development
  • Serve meals by using correct portioning and outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is always attractive and flavorful
  • Taste all prepared food items
  • Provide constructive information/feedback to executive team members either by phone, text, email or in-person
  • Manage work procedures and expedite workflow
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitized daily
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and clean walk-in, freezer and dry storage
  • Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • Report all needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings

REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous food service experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Washington Food Handlers Permit
  • Discreet, ethical and committed to maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and juggling many assignments simultaneously

This kitchen works as a unit, there is no self-proclamations within the menus or recipes. Every menu and dish is prepared and planned in a collaborative way to ensure each team members cooking style and strengths are being utilized
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The hourly rate range for this position is: $ $26.00
The hourly rate applies to the current posting. The posted hourly rate may vary based on key factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related knowledge, experience and skill set.
