Job Description:


The Events and Outreach Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and vision of LSU Online & Continuing Education by executing strategic initiatives to engage prospective students, alumni, partners, and the community at large.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of online education.

Reporting directly to the Director of Program Success & Marketing, this position is responsible for the planning, promotion, and execution of all special events for LSU OCE.


Job Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Execution: 50%


The Manager will assist LSU OCE with event planning and outreach logistics which include but not limited to: organizing, and overseeing a diverse range of events, including virtual and in-person information sessions, webinars, meeting logistics, conferences, workshops, retreats and recruitment events.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless event execution and alignment with organizational goals.
Represent LSU OCE at external events and networking opportunities to expand outreach efforts and build relationships.

Data Analysis and Reporting: 20%

Track and analyze relevant data metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of events and outreach efforts. Generate reports and insights to inform future strategies and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
Provide post-event feedback and outcome reports to key stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities: 20%Interact with and contact outside vendors and maintain positive relationships.
Ensure compliance in accordance with LSU insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
Establish staffing requirements and coordinate their activities.
Manage events inventory system. Responsibe for LSU OCE inventory of marketing swag. Ordering, maintaining inventory and handling any distribution.
Responsible for budgets related to outreach/events.

Marketing and Promotions: 5%


Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and communications strategies to drive enrollment and engagement for events.

Leverage various channels, such as social media, email marketing, advertising, and press releases, to effectively promote LSU OCE events.

Collaboration and Partnership: 5%


Foster collaborations and partnerships with internal departments, academic units, industry organizations, and community stakeholders to enhance the visibility and reputation of LSU Online.

Works collaboratively with the Office of Communications and University Relations and adheres to the standards set by the division.

  • University employees whose principal responsibilities of employment include operating a vehicle, performing maintenance on a vehicle, or supervising any public employee who operates or maintains a vehicle and positions with an expectation to travel will require an MVR and are subject to drug screens per PM33/PS67/FASOP HR04.
Operation Essential Personnel

  • This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and wellbeing of the campus per FASOP HR01.

Additional Information:


Due to the nature of the position and/or responsibilities, in times of emergencies and/or University closures, this position is considered operational essential.

It may be required to assist the Office of Communications and University Relations on necessary communications matters in times of crisis, including potentially working in LSUs Emergency Operations Center during those times.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience

Specific Experience:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in event planning, outreach, marketing, or related roles
