Research MRI Technologist

We are currently looking for a Research MRI Technologist to join our Cardiology research department at our School of Medicine Campus. As a member of our team, your main role will be to perform various clinical research studies focusing on the cardiovascular system for multi-center research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research magnetic resonance imaging scans while ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
  • Stay updated on the latest practices and applications of MRI technology.
  • Code, evaluate, and interpret data obtained from research MRI exams.
  • Identify and address any issues or discrepancies related to MRIs, including documenting and reporting adverse events.
  • Coordinate with research teams for scanning requirements and facilitate the transfer of MRI data to researchers.
  • Test MRI protocols, troubleshoot problems, and program sequences as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret MRI data accurately.
  • Collaborate on oral presentations, written reports, and analyses to summarize progress and results effectively.
  • Assist in developing study forms, questionnaires, and research techniques applications.
  • Help in creating manuals for data collection and coding.
  • Stay updated on new developments by reviewing journals, abstracts, and scientific literature.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory processes, SOPs, FDA, NIH, IRB approvals, and other relevant regulations.
  • Manage quality control activities within the department and satellite locations.
  • Work closely with sponsors and study personnel on relevant issues.
  • Maintain records and databases for publications by fellows and faculty.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and suggestions to the Director or Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • ARRT certification with current registration.
  • CPR certification within three months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of advanced MRI imaging techniques.
  • Familiarity with MRI equipment and hardware, especially in the context of research procedures.
