Knowledge of ODE's Social Emotional Learning Standards Bachelor's Degree Teaching license: Moderate/Intensive - Intervention Specialist Preferred, Mild/Moderate -Intervention Specialist OR Education of handicapped in areas of learning disabilities/behavior disorders (LD/BD) or emotionally-disturbed/severe behavior handicapped (ED/SBH)

Adheres to Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Trained in CPI/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention preferred.

(will provide training if needed) Experience in IEP writing and Data Collection Must be proficient at conducting FBAs and writing BIPs.

Experience working with Emotionally Disturbed/Behaviorally Challenged Students Knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards and ability to write lesson plans that coordinate with them and that are differentiated to meet the needs of all students on caseload.

Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of every student. Must have excellent attendance record. Excellent communication skills - verbal/written Prefer to have passing test score on Foundations of Reading (OAE 090) General Description:
Constructs and implements Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Plans for ED & other students in Learning Center program; conducts evaluations required to document student progress toward goals & objectives; participates in parent conferences to share information pertaining to the IEP & student progress

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Attends to the mission statement. Maintains a positive learning environment and understands and implement PBIS strategies.

Constructs and coordinates the development of IEPs containing all necessary pertinent information and annual goals with short-term objectives for students.

Follows the established classroom management system, contracts with student; teaches pro-social skills to the students following the process of modeling, discussion, role playing as part of their daily lesson plans.

Develop effective educational experiences that engage and stimulate student learning. Varies instructional strategies to address students' varied learning styles. Communicates expectations, provides guidance, and shows an active interest in student progress. Develops rapport and regular communication with parents/guardians.

Utilizes the daily system of documentation/information collection to verify implementation of objectives and individual student progress towards goals and objectives relating to behavior and academics.

Develops and implements weekly lesson plans, writing monthly reports to the home school of the student and writing a monthly observation of his/her group.

Develops a knowledge of required content standards and courses of study. Follows the policies and procedures for redirection of behaviors and disciplinary action for Learning Center students adopted by GCESC. Participates in in-service training provided for staff. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. Subscribes to the annual Teacher Evaluation process. Other responsibilities that correlate with this teaching position. Responsible for maintaining proper license and credentials. Must remain up to date with LPDC and IPDP requirements.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens. Conducts other duties related to the teacher's duties as assigned by the Director/Principal or GCESC Superintendent of schools.
