Qualifications:
  • Candidates should demonstrate initiative, critical thinking skills, and a positive demeanor in a fast-paced setting.
  • Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program or a related animal health science degree is required. Alternatively, substantial clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Proficiency in computer operations is essential.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and skill development is necessary to maintain the highest standards of patient care at AVECCC.
  • Prior experience in operating IDEXX lab machinery is a must.
  • Responsibilities include sorting, tracking, and processing in-house and external lab samples.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting patient triage following recommended social distancing guidelines.
  • Performing venipuncture procedures.
  • Proper handling of sample collection and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Safely capturing diagnostic radiographic images and assisting in non-radiographic imaging procedures.
  • Administering medications, fluids, and blood products.
  • Proficiency in animal handling and restraint.
  • Comprehensive patient care, especially for emergency and critical cases.
  • Establishing and organizing client/patient records.
  • Maintaining accurate facility records and adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Providing client education.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of client and patient information.
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service and communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborating effectively with the medical treatment team and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Responding calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Presenting treatment plans to clients.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and special committees as needed.
  • Ensuring proper care for strays, including cleaning, walking, pain management, feeding, and coordinating transfers to shelters.
  • Updating clients on their pets' status.
  • Engaging in rounds to ensure consistent patient care.
  • Maintaining facility cleanliness, including kennel upkeep, laundry, and overall hospital sanitation.
  • Demonstrating multitasking abilities and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Being punctual and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Fulfilling additional tasks as assigned by a supervisor.
Compensation:

Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits include medical, vision, dental coverage, a substantial CE allowance, additional compensation for overtime, 401K matching, and paid time off. Possibility of a signing bonus.

Pay: $25.00 per hour / Depending on Experience
