Echocardiography Sonographer Position at the University of Virginia

Description:

An Echocardiography Sonographer is a specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonographer responsible for providing diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound technology and related procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates cognitive skills for echocardiograph imaging
  • Shows technical skills for echocardiograph exams
  • Knowledge of technical requirements for Contrast Echocardiography
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Education: Must meet the certification requirements for Echocardiography Sonographer with CCI or ARDMS; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience: No required experience; 2 years relevant experience preferred
  • Licensure: RCS or RDCS with CCI or RCVT with ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire. AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required

Physical Demands:

Job involves standing for prolonged periods, bending, stooping, and traveling. Requires proficiency in communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail, ability to write legibly, and lift/push/pull 100lbs.
