CNC Machinist Position at AVStar Company

Joining us means playing a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction with our premium products while helping the company achieve its goals. As a CNC Machinist, you'll have the chance to gain diverse experience with various parts and become an integral part of a skilled and cohesive team.


At our Auburn, New York facility, we currently have openings for experienced CNC Machinists who are adept at set-ups.


Entry Level A Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating 4 axis and below Mills and Turning centers
  • Efficiently monitoring multiple machinery pieces simultaneously
  • Using Mics, Calipers, and simple plate inspection techniques
  • Inspecting and recording critical part features using hand tools and comparators
  • Reading and interpreting blueprint dimensions
  • Presetting tooling per the tool sheet

Advanced Level B Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing simple setups on 4 axis and below Mills and Turning centers
  • Conducting prove-outs of new programs
  • Operating 5 axis mills and Mill turn machines
  • Using independent judgment for tooling and work coordinates
  • Performing minor CNC program edits

Advanced Level A Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient setups on all CNC equipment
  • Performing prove-outs on complicated setups and parts
  • Suggesting complex changes to part programs
  • Training in mechanical inspection techniques
  • Leadership role in helping others learn and grow

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading
  • Strong math skills

Key Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of CNC machining principles
  • Mechanical Inclination
  • Collaborative team player

Starting Pay: $20.00-$37.00/hour based on experience. Shift differentials available for second and third shifts.


Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
