Responsibilities:


Provide program, project, development and operational structure and the application of best practices to the delivery, support, and operations for successful AI project and data strategy delivery across the division.

Direct and prioritize the work of implementation teams.
Manage budgets, processes and plans around these deliveries. Resolve issues and ensure successful delivery.
Direct and prioritize the work of implementation teams.
Hire, supervise, mentor, train and manage the performance of staff.
Oversee the work of outside contractors and vendors.
Implement best practices for software engineering and AI solution delivery in collaboration with other AT and Wolters Kluwer teams.

Engage with business owners to understand business needs (expressed and latent), map the AI and data technology needs of the business and execute programs to deliver against their roadmap.

Help support and guide */dxg business partners in the appropriate use of AI technologies.

As a member of the Advanced Technology (AT) leadership team, support the mission of Advanced Technology by influencing core capability development to expand opportunities and lower the barrier to the adoption of AI-based solutions.

Support the assessment of production suitability of Open Source and proprietary solutions for Generative AI (GenAI) Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL)
Communicate effectively on the project pipeline, status and issues including resourcing and budget.

Collaborate effectively with other teams across the */dxg and Wolters Kluwer to align on direction and leverage existing tools and knowledge.

A self-starter who can align the technology solution with a business goal

Qualifications:

Education:
MS or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant experience

Experience:

12+ years experience in software development of production ready capabilities
8+ years experience leading production solution delivery.

4+ years experience in developing applications leveraging AI technologies: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) for production application.

3+ years experience working with agile and Software Development Lifecycle tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Git) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Experience conducting rapid experimentation with Large Language Models (LLMs), including advanced Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment, automated testing and Tools (i.e. Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo...)
Strong knowledge of Python and ML tools (including pandas and scikit-learn)
Experience applying NLP, ML and DL open-source libraries, such as OpenNLP, spaCy, NLTK, Keras, MXNet, scikitlearn, etc. to deliver solutions.
Experience with building solutions on cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) for data strategy and AI solution delivery.
Strong working knowledge of ML and NLP and the ML/NLP development process
Demonstrated ability to function in distributed and multi-disciplinary teams across technology and business.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
