Job Description Summary


GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Principal Security Architect to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all application security (AppSec) and development platform tools.

In this role, you will be responsible for advancing our secure DevOps initiatives by leveraging GitHub's advanced security features and integrating them with JFrog's advanced security capabilities.

Your efforts will ensure a fully integrated, secure DevOps platform for our developers, fostering a culture of security within our development processes.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the SME for all application security tools and development platforms within GE Aerospace.
Provide expert guidance on the implementation and optimization of security features across the development lifecycle.

Secure DevOps Integration: Lead the integration of GitHub's advanced security features with JFrog's advanced security functionalities, including curation.

GitHub Advanced Security:

Implement GitHub Advanced Security capabilities such as:
Code Scanning: Set up automated code scanning to identify security vulnerabilities in code as it's written.

Secret Scanning: Detect and prevent secrets such as passwords and API keys from being pushed to the repository.

Dependency Review: Analyze and manage vulnerabilities in dependencies during the pull request process.

Security Overview: Provide a comprehensive view of security across all repositories.

JFrog Advanced Security: Utilize JFrog's advanced security features, including:

Xray:
Continuously scan binaries and source code for vulnerabilities, license compliance, and quality assurance.

Curation: Manage the use of open-source components and enforce policies to ensure secure and compliant usage.

Artifact Scanning:
Integrate artifact scanning into CI/CD pipelines to detect and remediate vulnerabilities before deployment.

Platform Management: Oversee the management and operation of GitHub and JFrog platforms, ensuring their security features are fully leveraged. Continuously evaluate and enhance platform security to protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle. Provide training, mentorship, and support to developers, fostering a security-first mindset.

Security Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute a security roadmap that aligns with GE Aerospace's strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to application security.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze security metrics to drive continuous improvement in security posture. Stay updated on the latest security trends, tools, and technologies to keep the organization ahead of potential threats.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience Minimum 7 years of professional experience in information security, with a focus on application security and secure software development practices.

Expertise: Deep knowledge of GitHub and JFrog security features and integration methods.

Note:
Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

Other Skills:

  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including static and dynamic analysis, container security, and dependency management.
Certifications: Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP, CEH) are highly desirable.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
