Serves as a facilitator and teacher to staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in caring for patients with wound and/or ostomy needs. Continuously reviews the scientific evidence to support clinical practice and institutes practice changes when needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel
  • Ability to work independently and is self-directed
  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy: Communication, Ownership, Understanding, Motivation, Sensitivity, Excellence, Teamwork, Respect
  • Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current Michigan License as a Registered Nurse
  • Completion of Enterostomal Therapy program certification within specialty within 6 months of hire
  • BCLS (CPR) within 6 months of hire


PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
