Job Summary/Description:

Are you a reporter/producer looking to make an impact? KKCO/KJCT, the leading station in the Grand Junction/Montrose market, is seeking an individual to spearhead our top-rated morning newscast. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and a passion for advancing their career in journalism. The position involves on-air reporting and leading newscasts as a producer.

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Identify and develop news stories relevant to the local area
  • Produce creatively shot, written, and edited news reports
  • Create and present newscasts covering local and national headlines
  • Manage time efficiently
  • Generate stories and videos for digital platforms
  • Uphold high journalistic standards aligned with the station's brand

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field or equivalent professional experience

- Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record

- Ability to adapt to various work schedules

- Previous on-air exposure is advantageous
