About the Role:

The Agricultural Mechanics Teacher will help lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological growth and maturation.

They will teach entry-level skills in the trade area in alignment with Chapter 74 Vocational State Frameworks to support a smooth transition to possible higher education and employment in mid level technical careers.

The Agricultural Mechanics Instructor will spend approximately seventy-five percent of their time teaching hands-on practical applications in a shop setting and twenty-five percent teaching theory in the classroom.


Skills, Experience and Training:

Must be able to teach a variety of agricultural mechanics subject areas from among the following: single and multiple cylinder engines, hydraulic systems, basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing and woodworking, electric arc and oxyacetylene gas welding, drafting, the repair and maintenance of agricultural facilities, and the operation, repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment, including tractors, power equipment, and small engines.

Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a caring, positive and constructive manner and specifically with students, teachers, school administrators, parents, and volunteers.

Perform high-quality work consistently.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team with other staff members.

Certification/License Required:
Chapter 74 License/Licensable in Agricultural Mechanics; Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field

Benefits:


The teacher workday is 7:30 am to 2:40 pm, for 183 days from approximately late August through mid June each year.

Pay Range:

The salary range is based on the Unit D Contract and placement on the salary scale by the principal is determined by relevant work experience, licensure, and educational level.
