Job Description

Grow Your Career DNA Eye Group is seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to support the optometrist in pretesting patients and play a critical role in our front office team, delivering exceptional patient care.

This role is a part of our team responsible for patient care in two office locations - Power and Stapley.

  • Working Hours:
    • Open 7 days a week (Sunday-Saturday) from 9:00AM-6:00PM
    • Availability required on weekdays and weekends at either office, but not both on the same day

Working Environment:

  • On-site work only, no remote options available
  • Required to wear DNA Eye Group scrub top uniform
  • Tasks include patient care, customer service, and using examination equipment
  • Training will be provided
  • Role involves sitting, standing, moving between rooms, and extended computer use
  • Handling multi-phone lines and lifting up to 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in optometry or medical field is advantageous.

Essential Duties:

  • Welcoming patients with professional and friendly service
  • Handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, insurance verifications, patient check-ins, and more
  • Entering patient data, maintaining records, ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Preparing patients for pretesting, performing vision screenings, and assisting during examinations
  • Ensuring exceptional patient care and addressing inquiries promptly
  • Conducting minor maintenance on equipment and keeping the office clean
  • Completing documentation and making reminder calls
  • Communicating effectively with patients, doctors, and colleagues
  • Being adaptable to work at different office locations
  • Strong focus on punctuality and attendance
  • Performing other assigned duties as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with optical pretesting equipment
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with doctors
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work under pressure
  • Optometric technician certification or relevant degree
  • Degree in medical field or related areas
