POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Position: Resource Specialist

Supervisor: Resource Center Manager

Location: Bud Clark Commons; 665 NW Hoyt St

Wage: $21.42/hourly

Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 7:30am-3:30pm

Classification: Non-exempt, union represented, benefit-eligible, full-time position

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Resource Center provides connections to resources and programs available with Transition Projects, assisting individuals with their needs. The Resource Specialist will offer information, referrals, and services to participants.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain safety and activities at the resource center.
  • Stay updated on agency programs, services, and community resources.
  • Offer advocacy, information, and referral services to participants.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
  • Help individuals access and maintain permanent housing.
  • Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving services.
  • Follow policies and procedures appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and participant records.
  • Coordinate with agency staff for service delivery.
  • Perform custodial duties in the resource center.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Acquire First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrate reliability and attend staff meetings.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Adequate hearing and vision for interactions.
  • Dexterity for office tasks and ability to perform CPR.
  • Capability to de-escalate in heightened situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or one-year social services experience.
  • Understanding of homelessness and related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred.
